Abstract:
A safety protection system (1000) comprising a safety protection device (1) that outputs an operation request signal to plant equipment (4) to protect plant safety, a backup device (2) that backs up the safety protection device, and a signal output circuit (3) that integrates the output of the safety protection device and the output of the backup device and outputs an operation request signal to the plant equipment so that the plant equipment operates on the safe side, wherein: the backup device outputs two output signals together; the signal output circuit outputs the operation request signal only when both of the two output signals output together by the backup device are set to ON; and the integrity of the circuit can be tested while the operation request signal to the plant equipment is blocked by setting only one of the output signals to ON, thereby reducing unnecessary operations on the plant equipment that are performed each time the test is performed.
