Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing an alkyl nitrate, using a centrifugal extraction device as a separator for the esterification reaction, feeding a mixed acid solution containing sulfuric acid and nitric acid from a heavy phase inlet of the centrifugal extraction device, and an alkyl alcohol from a light phase inlet of the centrifugal extraction device in a mole ratio of a feed of 1:1.0-3.0 of alkyl alcohol to nitric acid, and subjecting the mixed acid and the alkyl alcohol to an esterification reaction at a temperature of 10-60°C and a rotation speed of 800-2000 rev/min; separating the crude ester and waste acid generated under the effect of the centrifugal force into a light phase and a heavy phase, discharging the light phase crude ester through the light phase outlet of the centrifugal extractor, and the heavy phase waste acid through the heavy phase outlet of the centrifugal extractor; after conventional alkali washing and water washing, dehydrating and drying and purifying the crude ester to obtain a refined alkyl nitrate. The method of the present invention enables the esterification reaction, the separation of the reaction product and the waste acid to be completed within the same reaction vessel at the same time, greatly reducing the contact time of the reaction product with the waste acid, and effectively avoiding the occurrence of side reactions, thus fundamentally ensuring the safety of the esterification process.
