Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a rubber composition for coating metal cords, the rubber composition making it possible to achieve high levels of both cracking resistance and low-heat-buildup performance. In order to solve the above problem, the present invention is characterized in including: a rubber component; carbon black in which the cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) adsorption specific surface area is 110-160 m2/g, the half width ΔD50 of a peak including the Stokes equivalent diameter Dst that is the most frequent in an aggregate distribution obtained by centrifugal sedimentation is 60 nm or lower, and the ratio (ΔD50/Dst) of the ΔD50 and the Dst is 0.95 or less; silica in which the CTAB adsorption specific surface area is 200 m2/g or higher; and a vulcanizing agent.
