Abstract:
A rolling sliding part, wherein the surface of a roller (8) forming a cam follower device is finished by barrel processing. When the highest position of minute recesses and projections on the surface is considered to be the outermost surface position, the ratio of the cross section of a virtual plane in the surface direction at a position moved by 2.0 μm from the outermost surface in the depth direction to the entire surface area of the portion thereof in contact with a mating member is 90% or more. Accordingly, the durability of the member in rollingly or slidingly contact with the mating member such as the roller (8) can be increased at low cost by forming strong oil film between the surface of the roller (8) and a mating surface.
