Description:
ROAD WHEEL PROTECTIVE COVER ON TRACKED MILITARY LAND VEHICLES

TECHNICAL FIELD

The invention relates to a protective coverthat prevents the accumulation of mud in the road wheels in the suspension system of military tracked land vehicles.

In particular, the invention relates to a protective cover containing a curved surface, which prevents any foreign matter from entering the wheel by cutting off the access to it and ejects the mud or other foreign materials adhering to it by the centrifugal method during the wheel movement.

CURRENT STATE OF THE TECHNIQUE

A rim is a vehicle part that is indispensable for a vehicle that is both eye-pleasing and offering technically diverse functions. The rim is located in the form of a circle inside the tire in a car. The road wheel enables the track to rotate as guided in tracked vehicles. The track is wound on the road wheel and sprocket. With the rotation of the sprocket, the track is triggered, and the circular motion turns into a linear motion with the pallet and enables the vehicle to move, while the road wheels are the elements that support the vehicle weight and spread it on the track in a balanced way.

Generally, tracked military land vehicles can be in different tonnages according to their duties and different types of suspension systems are used in these vehicles with tonnage differences. As vehicle tonnages differ, carrier road wheel sizes and designs vary depending on the loadings. Steel road wheel designs, which are common in 30 tons and above tracked vehicle classes, are designed to carry loads and this design is generally suitable for the road wheel to collect mud in the muddy terrain. These systems consisting of 6 axles have a total of 24 road wheels and the collected mud weight negatively affects the vehicle dynamics. At the same time, cleaning prolongs the operation time. To solve this situation, different road wheel designs have been tried in the past but did not meet the load capacity.

In the current technique, rubber parts placed inside the wheels are used to prevent the accumulation of mud on the road wheels. Rubber solution prevents entry of mud, but causes a certain weight increase in the vehicle, even if it is not as much as mud. At the same time, since rubber is a lifed item, it must be replaced at certain times. It cannot be stored because it is a lifed item.

As a result, in order to solve the above-mentioned problems in the current technique, the need for a new economical, useful, protective cover design and the insufficiency of existing solutions made it necessary to make an improvement in the related technical field.

AIM OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to a protective cover that prevents the accumulation of mud in the road wheels in the suspension system of military tracked land vehicles, which has been developed to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages and to bring new advantages to the relevant technical field.

The most important purpose of the invention is to keep mud out of the wheels. Being 6 times lighter than rubber design provides weight advantage. In addition, it does not need to be replaced at certain times since it is not a lifed item. It has a long shelf life and can be stored.

It is a protective cover developed to realize all the purposes mentioned above and that will be developed from the detailed explanation below and it contains the following. a design that blocks access to the road wheel and prevents any foreign matter from entering it, a curved surface that throws out the mud or other foreign substances adhered to it by the centrifugal method during the movement of the road wheel, a fold that prevents the product used for sealing from being damaged by external factors, connection holes that allow the protective cover to be mounted in the road wheel with the help of fasteners.

The structural and characteristic features and all the advantages of the invention will be understood more clearly thanks to the figures given below and the detailed explanation written by referring to these figures, and therefore the evaluation should be made by taking these figures and detailed explanations into consideration.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In this detailed description, the preferred constructs of the protective cover (10) that prevent the accumulation of mud in the road wheels (A) in the suspension (D) system of tracked military land vehicles are explained only for a better understanding of the subject and without any restrictive effect.

The road wheel (A) enables the track (B) to rotate as guided in tracked vehicles. The track (B) is wound on the road wheel (A) and sprocket (C). With the rotation of the sprocket (C), the track (B) is triggered, and the circular motion turns into a linear motion with the pallet and enables the vehicle to move, while the road wheels (A) are the elements that support the vehicle weight and spread it on the track (B) in a balanced way.

In Figures 1-4, the protective cover (10) of the road wheels (B) of tracked vehicles subject to the invention is shown. Preferably, steel material is used as the protective cover (10) material. The reason for choosing steel is to minimize the effects of the parts coming from external factors on the protective cover (10). If more weight reduction is desired, aluminium material can also be used. In the present invention, the protective cover (10) is produced by the method of spinning. Here, the protective cover (10) is mounted on the road wheel (A) through the connection holes (12) with the help of fasteners (20). In this area, preferably 10 nuts are used for the wheel connection, but preferably 4 of them are used for the protective cover (10). The remaining ones are used as a guide holes (14). Here, since the protective cover (10) blocks the access to the road wheel (A), it prevents any foreign matter from entering. The curved surface (11) of the protective cover (10) throws out the mud or other foreign substances adhering on it by the centrifugal method during the movement of the road wheel (A). In order to prevent liquid ingress into the Road Wheel (A), a sealing element is applied to the junction point of the wheel and the rim. In addition, the curve (13) given to the end points of the protective cover (10) on the side prevents the product used for sealing from being damaged by external factors. Thanks to this invention, vehicle dynamics were taken under control, thus contributing to the healthy progress of military operations. After the operation, it contributed to vehicle maintenance and cleaning. The invention has reduced external damage to the road wheel (A). The protective cover (10) will be damaged before the road wheel (A), and its replacement would be an easier and cost-effective solution.

The scope of protection of this application has been determined in the claims and it is obvious that a person skilled in the art can reveal the innovation presented in the invention by using similar constructs and/or apply this construct to other similar fields in the relevant technique. Therefore, it is obvious that such constructs will lack innovation and especially the criteria of exceeding the state of the art.
