This refrigerator comprises: a compressor; a condenser connected to an outlet of the compressor; a hot pipe; a first capillary pipe; a second capillary pipe; a third capillary pipe; a first valve including a first input port connected to the outlet of the condenser, a first port connected to one end of the hot pipe, a second port connected to the other end of the hot pipe, and a third port; a second valve including a second input port connected to the third port, a first output port connected to the first capillary pipe, a second output port connected to the second capillary pipe, and a third output port connected to the third capillary pipe; and a control unit. The control unit: operates the first valve in a first mode, second mode, or third mode during the operation of the compressor; controls the first valve in the first mode so that the first input port communicates with the first port and the second port communicates with the third port; controls the first valve in the second mode so that the second port is closed and the first port communicates with the third port; and controls the first valve in the third mode so that the first port and the second port are closed and the first input port communicates with the third port.
