Abstract:
The present invention provides a rectangular can manufacturing method and rectangular can manufacturing device that suppress non-uniformity in the thickness of long-side walls without increasing manufacturing costs. This rectangular can manufacturing method comprises a drawing-and-ironing step for drawing and ironing a planned cylindrical part section of an intermediate molded product. A die and a punch are formed such that, under conditions where the punch is inserted unloaded into a die processing through-hole (41a), a short-side-direction distance (W1) between a long-side-direction central section of a punch long-side-direction wall machining section (42b) and a die long-side-direction wall machining section (41c) becomes narrower than a short-side-direction distance (W2) between long-side-direction end sections of the punch long-side-direction wall machining section (42b) and the die long-side-direction wall machining section (41c).
