Provided is a recording body that makes it difficult to remove a recording member therefrom.　This recording body comprises: a laminated body; and a cladding material that covers at least a portion of the surface of the laminated body. This laminated body comprises: a base; a middle layer provided on the base and having a housing part; a recording member provided in the housing part; and an overlaying layer provided on the middle layer. The housing part is provided in a portion of the surface of the middle layer. The housing part is a through hole that penetrates through the middle layer in the thickness direction, or a recess that is recessed in the middle layer in the thickness direction thereof. The recording member comprises a color-developing layer containing a coloring compound having electron-donating properties, a developer having electron-receiving properties, and a matrix resin. The base, the middle layer, and the overlaying layer contain the same type of resin material. The base and the middle layer are attached together by fusion bonding, and the middle layer and the overlaying layer are attached together by fusion bonding.
