Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a range hood and a method for controlling same. A range hood according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises a camera, a communication interface, a fan, a filter for purifying air suctioned into the range hood by driving the fan, and at least one processor. The at least one processor: transmits an image of food obtained by the camera to a server via the communication interface; when a first correction coefficient obtained on the basis of the type and cooking method of the food is received from the server, identifies the usage time of the filter corresponding to the food on the basis of the first correction coefficient and the driving time of the fan; and identifies a time for replacement of the filter on the basis of the usage time of the filter and the cumulative usage time of the filter.
