Abstract:
When a material M to be rolled is cold rolled by means of a multistage rolling mill comprising a multistage taper roll (19) having a plurality of tapers at different taper angles provided as shiftable intermediate rolls (12u, 12d), and a backup roll (15u) having a bearing shaft (17) where the rigidity of a slit part is varied in the circumferential direction by a split slit (20), a mathematical expression model representative of the difference of elongation at a plurality of points of different distance from the plate edge with respect to the widthwise center of a plate is defined previously based on the positional relation between the plurality of points and the boundary between tapers of the multistage taper roll using the rigidity of the backup roll (15u) as a variable. The difference of elongation at the plurality of points with respect to the widthwise center of the plate is calculated by substituting the rigidity of the backup roll (15u) calculated from the rotational position of the bearing shaft (17) in the mathematical expression model, and the crown adjusting amount of the backup roll (15u) and the intermediate roll shift position are determined or corrected so that the calculated difference of elongation agree with a desired value. A multistage taper roll (19) having a multistage taper and a reduced diameter part at both side ends can be also used as the first intermediate rolls (12u, 12d). A rolled steel strip having high profile accuracy can be produced using a mathematical expression model where the positional relation between the profile evaluation position and the boundary between the tapers of the multistage taper roll is incorporaed.
