Abstract:
Provided is a printer provided with a slitter unit that only requires a small installation space. A printer (1) comprises: a motor (57); a pinion gear (67) which is fixed to a rotating shaft (57A) and which rotates integrally with the rotating shaft (57A); a speed reduction gear (69) which reduces a speed of rotation of the pinion gear (69) and transmits the rotation; a drive gear (71) through which the rotating shaft (57A) is inserted, in a state in which the rotation of the rotating shaft (57A) is not directly transmitted to the drive gear (71), and which rotates on the rotating shaft (57A) in conjunction with the rotation of the pinion gear (67) and the speed reduction gear (69); and a slitter unit (25) which includes a driving rotating blade (61A) which is configured integrally with the drive gear (71) and rotates coaxially with the drive gear (71), and a driven rotating blade (61B) which is rotated by the driving rotating blade (61A), the slitter unit (25) cutting a paper sheet (12A, 14A) that passes between the driving rotating blade (61A) and the driven rotating blade (61B).
