The present invention provides a power system and a rail transport vehicle group. The power system comprises a hydraulic driving mechanism, a first power mechanism, a first rail, a second power system, and a second rail. The first rail comprises two steel rails that are arranged in parallel and spaced apart from each other. The second rail is provided between the two steel rails, and comprises a first plate body provided in a vertical direction. The first power mechanism comprises wheels and wheel motors mounted on a rail transport vehicle. The second power mechanism comprises a fixed frame, a clamping structure driving apparatus, and clamping structures. The clamping structures are respectively provided at two sides of the first plate body, and the clamping structure driving apparatus is used for driving the clamping structures to clamp or loosen the first plate body. The rail transport vehicle group comprises the power system and transport vehicles. According to the power system and the rail transport vehicle group of the present invention, the climbing power of a rail transport vehicle is enhanced by means of a reasonable structure, the structure is simple, and the production and maintenance costs are reduced.
