Abstract:
The present invention provides a polyvinyl alcohol film which has excellent stretching properties during polarizing film production and thus can inhibit breaking, and with which it is possible to obtain a polarizing film which exhibits good polarization performance. This polyvinyl alcohol film is also able to reduce the amount of dissolving polyvinyl alcohol resin when immersed in water, and thus does not contaminate polarizing film production equipment. In the polyvinyl alcohol film, the degree of crystallinity is at least 38%, and the undissolved crystal ratio after being submerged for 30 seconds is at most 18%.
