Abstract:
A polyphenylene ether (PPE) composition having high hot wire ignition (HWI) performance, comprising the following components in parts by weight: 40-90 parts of polyphenylene ether, 2-40 parts of a styrene resin, 1-10 parts of a toughener, 5-18 parts of a flame retardant, 0.1-3 parts of a polyoxymethylene (POM) resin, and 0.1-1 part of metal oxide. According to the HWI-resistant polyphenylene ether material, by means of the catalytic char formation effect of the metal oxide and the POM at the early stage of ignition, the quality of a carbon layer is greatly improved, the HWI performance of the material is significantly improved, and the material has a good effect on flame retardance. By means of the method, a flame-retardant PPE material having 0-level HWI can be prepared.
