Abstract:
This pneumatic tire has, on the tire outer surface of at least one sidewall 2 thereof, a recess 20 that continues in the tire circumferential direction. When a straight line drawn to be tangent to the outer outlines of the sidewall 2 and a bead part 3 in a tire meridian cross-section is defined as a tangential line L1, a point at which the tangential line L1 comes in contact with the outer outline of the sidewall 2 is defined as a tangent point P1, a straight line that passes through a wind-up end of a carcass layer 4 and intersects perpendicularly with a body part 4a of the carcass layer 4 is defined as a normal L2, and a straight line that passes the tangent point P1 so as to intersect perpendicularly with the body part 4a of the carcass layer 4 is defined as a normal L3, the relation 0.10×(G1-17)≤A/(S+A)≤0.05×(G1-10) is satisfied among the area A of a region enclosed by the tangent L1 and the outer outlines of the sidewall 2 and the bead part 3, the area S of a region enclosed by the body part 4a, the normal L2, the normal L3, and the outer outlines of the sidewall 2 and the bead part 3, and the thickness G1 of a bead filler 6 as measured along the normal L2.
