Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire that can excellently maintain steering stability and ride comfort during high-speed travel while attaining a reduction in road noise. A belt cover layer 8 comprising a cover cord wound in a spiraling manner along a tire circumferential direction is provided to the outer periphery of a belt layer 7 in a tread part 1. A polyethylene terephthalate fiber cord for which the elongation at a load of 2.0 cN/dtex at 100°C is within the range of 2.0-4.0% is used as the cover cord. A side-reinforcing layer formed by knitting a plurality of reinforcing cords together and coating the same with rubber is provided in a region extending from a bead part to a side wall part.
