Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating hearing loss, comprising ammonium lactate as an active ingredient. Since it was confirmed that the number of normal sensory hair cells increased when sensory hair cells damaged by gentamicin was treated with ammonium lactate, a pharmaceutical composition comprising ammonium lactate as an active ingredient can be used to prevent or treat hearing loss as a side effect due to use of ammonium lactate, which is an antibiotic.
