Abstract:
This paper sheet accumulation device (4) comprises a transport mechanism (11) that transports paper sheets (3); an accumulation mechanism (12), and a control unit that controls the accumulation mechanism (12). The accumulation mechanism (12) has an accumulation space (16) in which the paper sheets (3) transported by the transport mechanism (11) are accumulated, a first space-regulating member (21) that moves in the thickness direction of the paper sheets (3) within the accumulation space (16), a support member (18) that extends along the movement direction of the first space-regulating member (21) and supports one side of the paper sheets (3) within the accumulation space (16), and a second space-regulating member (22) that is provided facing the support member (18) and moves in the contact and separation direction with respect to the support member (18). The control unit controls the position of the second space regulating member (22) according to the external dimensions of the paper sheets (3) transported to the accumulation space (16) by the transport mechanism (11).
