Abstract:

In order to recognize the issuer of paper currency belonging to the same currency and sort paper currency on the basis of the issuer, this paper currency processing device is configured from: a reception unit that receives multiple items of paper currency; a transport unit that transports one by one the paper currency received by the reception unit; multiple accumulation units that accumulate the paper currency transported by the transport unit; an identification unit that identifies identification information possessed by the paper currency transported by the transport unit and indicating the issuer of the paper currency; and a control unit that sorts and accumulates paper currency of the same currency into the accumulation unit corresponding to the issuer, on the basis of the identification information identified by the identification unit.
