Abstract:
Provided is an optical sensor for toner quantity measurement, the optical sensor being capable of being manufactured with a high yield while being provided with an optical film adhered to an opening. A light emitting element, a first light receiving element, and a second light receiving element are provided inside a housing 20. The optical sensor emits light from the light emitting element onto an object to which toner has been attached, and receives reflected light from the object using the first light receiving element and the second light receiving element. The housing is provided with at least two openings which allow light emitted from the light emitting element onto the object and reflected light, respectively, to pass. The housing is provided with recessed portions around the at least two openings, and the optical film is affixed inside the recessed portions so as to cover the openings. An end surface of the optical film is inclined such that an upper edge is positioned toward the center of the optical film, and a rim portion, which is an edge of an upper surface of the optical film, has a raised shape.
