This operation device is for operating a shielding device comprising a bottom rail connected to the lower end of a shielding material and an intermediate bar connected to the upper end of the shielding material. The operation device comprises an operation unit that switches the operation device between a first state in which the bottom rail can be operated up and down and a second state in which the intermediate bar can be operated up and down.
