Abstract:
A neutron position detector that comprises: a cylindrical outer container that serves as a cathode; an anode disposed at the axial center of the outer container; and a gas that includes 3He gas and additive gas and is filled inside the outer container. The additive gas includes nitrogen as a quenching gas and argon as a gas that shortens the range of reaction products of neutrons and 3He gas.
