Abstract:
Provided is a negative electrode which enables a zinc secondary battery to have a prolonged cycle life. This negative electrode is for use in a zinc secondary battery and contains: ZnO particles, metal Zn particles having an average particle diameter D50 of 85-250 μm; and Bi2O3 particles having an average major axis diameter of 0.3-8.5 μm. In the negative electrode, when the contained amount of the ZnO particles is 100 parts by weight, the contained amount of the metal Zn particles is 1.0-87.5 parts by weight, and the contained amount of the Bi2O3 particles is 0.5-20 parts by weight.
