Abstract:
A multifeed detection device according to the present disclosure which is equipped with a light source for emitting light at paper, a light-receiving unit for receiving transmitted light which is transmitted through the paper and reflected light which is reflected by the paper, and a control unit for obtaining transmission output data, which is output data pertaining to the transmitted light, and reflection output data, which is output data pertaining to the reflected light, from the light-receiving unit, wherein the control unit determines whether or not a paper multifeed is occurring on the basis of the transmission output data and the reflection output data.
