Abstract:
The present invention prevents reliability from deteriorating due to heat during the operation of a dynamic brake. A motor drive device (1) comprises a first control unit (11), a second control unit (12), and a dynamic brake (14). The first control unit (11) controls a first motor (2). The second control unit (12) controls a second motor (5). The second motor (5) cools at least either a heat generation unit (A1) or a heat dissipation unit (B1). The dynamic brake (14) has resistors (14a) to (14c) connected among the terminals (P1) to (P3) of the first motor (2) and consumes the kinetic energy of the first motor (2) at the resistors (14a) to (14c) by short-circuiting among the terminals (P1) to (P3) to stop the first motor (2). When the control of the first motor (2) is in a standby state, the second control unit (12) changes the rotational speed of the second motor (5) in accordance with the rotational speed of the first motor (2). The heat generation unit (A1) includes the resistors (14a) to (14c).
