Abstract:
A monoazo dichroic dye compound represented by chemical formula 1 below is disclosed. [Chemical formula 1] [STRUCTURAL FORMULA] In chemical formula 1, Z is any one selected from the group consisting of CN, COOR11, indanone, and 1,3-dioxoindane, wherein R11 is any one selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, an aryl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl group. The monoazo dichroic dye compound according to the present invention, which is a monoazo compound, has good dichroism and excellent heat resistance and lightfastness and thus can be usefully employed for a dye-based polarizing plate.
