Abstract:
A monitoring device (100) comprises: an image acquisition unit (102) that acquires an image including a product display area within a predetermined range from a payment device that is operated by a customer and has a product registration function and payment function; a detection unit (104) that processes the image to detect that a product has been taken from the product display area by the customer; and a processing unit (106) that, when the detection unit (104) has detected that a product has been taken by the customer, causes an output device to output information for prompting processing of registering the product if payment processing is incomplete, or stores information enabling identification of the customer into a storage device if payment processing is complete.
