The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a modified-protein-reducing agent that is safe and can be taken at a daily dosage or used as a functional food, and that makes it possible to reduce the amount of a modified protein in a body; and a method for producing the modified-protein-reducing agent. Additionally, the purpose of the present invention is to provide: a use of an above-ground portion of sesame (Sesamum indicum), or an extract of said above-ground portion, for reducing the amount of a modified protein; and a method for reducing the amount of a modified protein. A modified-protein-reducing agent according to the present invention is characterized by containing an above-ground portion of sesame (Sesamum indicum), or an extract of said above-ground portion, as an active ingredient.
