Abstract:
A mobile device is disclosed comprising display, hardware button comprises hardware and/or software switch for furnishing the hardware button with supplementary applications. The hardware button along with said hardware switch can be used for battery full swich off, as context-dependent button in games, applications, tuning etc., as a button for context-aware applications, as preprogrammed and/or user defined hot key. Also an electronic switch is disclosed installed in the mobile device electrically and programmatically operated and mechanically and electrically connected to hardware button comprises: mechanical shifting elements, software controlled switch to logically connect the hardware button to mobile device processor. Also disclosed herein a method of mobile device full battery switch off using hardware button and and a method of mobile device for insertion/extraction of one or more SIM-cards using hardware button.

CLAIMS

1. A mobile device comprising processor, display, battery for autonomous power supply, hardware button for power on/off, further comprises hardware or software switch or switch with hardware plus software functions for furnishing said hardware button with supplementary applications.

2. A mobile device as recited in claim 1, wherein said hardware button can combine any or part or all of the following: press-button, movable swith, rotary switch.

3. A mobile device as recited in claims 1 or 2, wherein said hardware button along with said hardware or software switch can be used for insertion/extraction of one or more SIM-cards .

4. A mobile device as recited in claims 1 or 2, wherein said hardware button along with said hardware switch can be used for battery full swich off.

5. A mobile device as recited in claims 1 or 2, wherein said hardware button along with said software switch can be used as context-dependent button in games, applications, tuning etc.

6. A mobile device as recited in claims 1 or 2, wherein said hardware button along with said software switch can be used as a button for context-aware applications.

7. A mobile device as recited in claims 1 or 2, wherein said hardware button along with said software switch can be used as trigger button in photo/video shooting.

8. A mobile device as recited in claims 1 or 2, wherein said hardware button along with said hardware or software switch can be used as phone locking button.

9. A mobile device as recited in claims 1 or 2, wherein said hardware button along with said hardware or software switch can be used as screen locking button.

10. A mobile device as recited in claims 1 or 2, wherein said hardware button along with said software switch can be used as preprogrammed and/or user defined hot key.

11. A mobile device as recited in claims 1 or 2, wherein said hardware button along with said software switch can be used as an alarm key.

12. A mobile device as recited in claims 1 or 2, wherein said hardware button along with said software switch can be used as a navigation key.

13. An electronic switch installed in the mobile device electrically and programmatically operated and mechanically and electrically connected to hardware button as recited in claims 1 or 2, comprising

one or more mechanical shifting elements able to activate mechanisms responsible for performing

mechanical movements and

one or more software controlled switch to logically connect said hardware button to said mobile device processor as an input device.

14. An electronic switch as recited in claim 13 further comprising memory programm block to store preprogrammed data for all or part of scenarios of mechanical and/or soatware actions and/or connections to be undertaken in several predefined cases.

15. Method of mobile device full battery switch off using hardware button comprises the following steps:

- said hardware button is pushed and moved to stop position;

- rotated and fixed in final position .

16. Method of mobile device one or more SIM-cards

insertion/extraction by using hardware button comprises the following steps:

battery switching off; the ejection mechanism comes in hooking with hardware button in rotation mode;

rotation of hardware button to eject SIM-card.

17. Method of mobile device one or more SIM-cards

insertion/extraction as recited in claim 17, wherein battery is switched off by pushing and further releasing hardware button .

18. Method of mobile device one or more SIM-cards

insertion/extraction as recited in claim 17, wherein battery is switched off by touch screen manipulation.

Description:
MOBILE DEVICE COMPRISING DISPLAY AND Ά HARDWARE

POWER BUTTON

DESCRIPTION

The disclosed utility relates generally to mobile devices comprising display device and hardware buttons and/or

switches, and particularly to the mentods of interaction with mobile multiscreen devices.

STATE OF ART

Since a hardware button is one of the most often used elements of mobile devices a plurality of solutions of this element for mobile device, touch screen, two-screen and more including are known in the art.

Patent US 9,250,660 discloses A mobile device having a HOME button with integrated user biometric sensing comprises a casing, a touchscreen, a HOME button and a camera/scanner module. The touchscreen is mounted on the casing and

simultaneously acts as a display panel and a touch-sensitive digitizing input pad. The HOME button is mounted on the casing, and at least a portion of the HOME button is formed of an optically transparent material forming an aperture or lens for transmitting optical images through the HOME button. The camera/scanner module is disposed below the HOME button adjacent the aperture, and includes a housing, a lens, a photo sensor and signal wires which operatively connect the scanner/camera module to sensing/security circuitry disposed within the casing. When a user presses the HOME button with a fingertip, the lens array focuses an image of a fingerprint from the top surface of the HOME button onto the photo sensor .

Patent US 8,564,559 discloses a cover glass pressure- sensitive button for a mobile device is disclosed, a piece of pressure sensor is configured under peripheral of a cover glass for a display of a mobile device. The cover glass can be pressed like a button, and a signal is output from the pressure sensor to trigger a predetermined function for the mobile device when a pressure is applied on the cover glass. In another embodiment, a space is reserved either under the touch panel or under the LCD module. With this configuration, the pressure sensitivity of the cover glass increases because the pressure applied on the cover glass can be fully

transferred onto the pressure sensor.

Patent US 8,994,678 discloses a terminal and a method for a programmable button on a bezel of the terminal are

provided. For a mobile terminal comprising a touch sensor, a first display and at least one second display disposed at the bezel, the bezel at least partially surrounding the first display, the method includes mapping an object displayed on the first display to a button on the at least one second display, displaying the button on the at least one second display, and when the displayed button is actuated,

performing an action corresponding to the object.

Patent US 8,903,462 discloses a folder type mobile

telephone and control method therefor are provided which utilize an auxiliary display unit viewable whether the folder is opened or closed. The folder type mobile telephone

includes an auxiliary display unit and a main body having a main display unit. The folder type mobile telephone includes an opening at a position corresponding to the auxiliary display unit. The folder type mobile telephone may include a wheel button formed at one side of the main body to input user commands to the auxiliary display unit. A transparent window may be formed at the opening to protect the auxiliary display unit. Regardless of whether the folder is opened or closed, a user can view, and control the auxiliary display unit via wheel button inputs. Since the auxiliary display unit is formed on the main body, the relative thickness of the folder can be reduced to make the folder type mobile telephone compact.

Us patent application 20150018041 discloses display device including a display and a hardware power button, wherein the power button is operable to open from the device to receive a subscriber identity module (SIM) card, and wherein the power button is operable to close so as to store the SIM card in the device, wherein the device is operable to use the SIM card to define a SIM identity for the device. According to a first aspect of the invention, there is provided a mobile electronic device operable to receive user input, wherein the device includes no visible mechanical buttons. The device may include a hidden mechanical button which provides little or no physical manifestation of its presence when viewing the device. The device may include an accelerometer , wherein the device is operable to receive a shake command input via the accelerometer to instruct the device to switch itself on/off.

This method is taken as the closest prior art.

Technical result attained by the proposed method is adding new functions/ abilities associated with hardware button, enhancing convenience, mainly by enhanced visualization of some executed operations, increasing of consumer qualities.

Known devices do not allow to fully or in part reach these results .

DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

BRIEF SUMMARY

A mobile device comprising processor, display, battery for autonomous power supply, hardware button for power on/off, further comprises hardware and/or software switch for

furnishing said hardware button with supplementary

applications .

The hardware button can combine any or part or all of the following: press-button, movable swith, rotary switch. The hardware button along with said hardware and/or software switch can be used for insertion/extraction of one or more SI -cards.

The hardware button along with said hardware switch can be used for battery full swich off.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as context-dependent button in games, applications, tuning etc.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as a button for context-aware applications.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as preprogrammed and/or user defined hot key.

Also disclosed herein an electronic switch installed in the mobile device electrically and programmatically

(softwarely) operated and mechanically and electrically connected to hardware button comprises:

one or more mechanical shifting elements able to

activate mechanisms responsible for performing

mechanical movements and

one or more software controlled switch to logically connect said hardware button with mobile device

processor as an input device.

It can additionaly contain memory programm block to store preprogrammed data for all or part of scenarios of mechanical and/or soatware actions and/or connections to be undertaken in several predefined cases.

Also disclosed herein a method of mobile device full battery switch off using hardware button. The method

comprises the following steps:

- the hardware button is pushed-to-stop position;

- rotated for fixation (half turn, quarter of turn) . Also disclosed herein a method of mobile device for insertion/extraction of one or more SIM-cards using hardware button comprises the following steps:

battery switching off by pushing and further releasing hardware button;

the ejection mechanism comes in hooking with hardware button in rotation mode;

rotation of hardware button to eject SIM-card. DETAILED DESCRIPTION

A mobile device comprising processor, display, battery for autonomous power supply, hardware button for power on/off, further comprises hardware and/or software switch for

furnishing said hardware button with supplementary

applications .

The hardware button can combine any or part or all of the following: press-button, movable swith, rotary switch.

The hardware button along with said hardware and/or software switch can be used for insertion/extraction of one or more SIM-cards. A special scenario for this operation perfomance should be predetailed.

The hardware button along with said hardware switch can be used for battery full swich off. In this case the switch should be able electrically disconnect all battery pins from power consumer - the whole mobile device. Since all electric power will be disconnected, this function should be made by the mechanical part (chain) of the switch plus button.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as context-dependent button in games, applications, tuning etc. This function requires at least processor and memory within the switch.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as a button for context-aware applications. This function requires at least processor and memory within the switch .

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as preprogrammed and/or user defined hot key. The switch in these previous cases is to be able to be progremmed and/or tuned and/or self-tuned to be able to take into account the content executed on the mobile device at the moment of said button use.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as trigger button in photo/video shooting. This makes photo/video shooting more convenient.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as phone locking button.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as screen locking button.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as an alarm key.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as a navigation key.

Also disclosed herein an electronic switch installed in the mobile device electrically and programmatically

comprises the following steps:

- the hardware button is pushed and moved to stop

position;

- rotated for fixation - half turn, quarter of turn, left or right direction - depending on human preferances. This function and details thereof also can be preprogrammed.

Also disclosed herein a method of mobile device for insertion/extraction of one or more SIM-cards using hardware button. The method comprises the following scenario:

a) battery switching off;

b) the ejection mechanism comes in hooking with hardware button in rotation mode;

c) rotation of hardware button to eject SIM-card.

The battery may be switched off by pushing and further releasing hardware button.

The battery may be switched off by any kind of touch screen manipulation.

HOW IT WORKS.

A mobile device comprising processor, display, battery for autonomous power supply, hardware button for power on/off, further comprises hardware and/or software switch for furnishing said hardware button with supplementary

applications .

The hardware button can combine any or part or all of the following: press-button, movable swith, rotary switch.

The hardware button along with said hardware and/or software switch can be used for insertion/extraction of one or more SIM-cards. A special scenario for this operation perfomance should be predetailed. In this case for extraction of SIM-cards an extra deep push-down path can be provided. For SIM-cards extraction according to another variant the twofold push may be provided.

The hardware button along with said hardware switch can be used for battery full swich off. In this case the switch should be able electrically disconnect all battery pins from power consumer - the whole mobile device. Since all electric power will be disconnected, this function should be made by the mechanical part (chain) of the switch plus button. The mechanical part of the switch must entirely disconnect the battery from device's electric chain. In this position the switch is to be fixed untill the necessity to full disconect is over. One of the preferred embodiment of this switch is 1) to push down the button to stop; and 2) in stop position to turn quarter of turn (or half turn) , left (or right)

direction. To return to connection mode all should be done in reverse order.

The hardware button along with the software switch can be used as context-dependent button in games, applications, tuning etc. This function requires at least processor and memory within the switch.

The hardware button along with the software switch can be used as a button for context-aware applications. This

function requires at least processor and memory within the switch as well. The connection between the button+switch and processor is established programmly.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as preprogrammed and/or user defined hot key. The switch in these previous cases is to be able to be progremmed and/or tuned and/or self-tuned to be able to take into account the content executed on the mobile device at the moment of said button use.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as trigger button in photo/video shooting. This makes photo/video shooting more convenient and habitable as if one uses old-fashoned camera.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as phone locking button.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as screen locking button.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as an alarm key.

The hardware button along with said software switch can be used as a navigation key. In this case the ability of the button to be turned right-left along with knob ability can make navigation more convenient.

Also disclosed herein an electronic switch installed in the mobile device electrically and programmatically

(softwarely) operated and mechanically and electrically connected to hardware button comprises:

one or more mechanical shifting elements able to

activate mechanisms responsible for performing

mechanical movements and

one or more software controlled switch to logically connect said hardware button with mobile device

processor as an input device.

It can additionaly contain memory programm block to store preprogrammed data for all or part of scenarios of mechanical and/or software actions and/or connections to be undertaken in a plurality of predefined cases.

Also disclosed herein a method of mobile device full battery switch off using hardware button. The method

comprises the following steps:

- the hardware button is pushed and moved to stop

position;

- rotated and fixed in a final position - half turn, quarter of turn, left or right direction - depending on human individual preferences. This function and details thereof also can be preprogrammed.

Also disclosed herein a method of mobile device for insertion/extraction of one or more SIM-cards using hardware button. The method comprises the following scenario:

a) battery switching off;

b) the ejection mechanism comes in hooking with hardware button, preferrably, in rotation mode;

c) rotation of hardware button to eject SIM-card.

The battery may be switched off by pushing and further releasing hardware button.

The battery may be switched off by any kind of touch screen manipulation. Also said screen manipulation may be preprogrammed .
