Abstract:
Methods, devices and processor-readable media are described for predicting a fatigue level (270) for a user based on photoplethysmogram (PPG) signals. In various examples, the present disclosure describes a method at a device. A pair of valid PPG snippets (230) are obtained from a continuous PPG signal (210). A plurality of PPG features are extracted for each valid PPG snippet (230) of the pair of valid PPG snippets. A plurality of pairwise features (640) are then extracted from the plurality of PPG features for each valid PPG snippet (230) and a fatigue level (270) is predicted based on the pairwise features (640). Optionally, the predicted fatigue level (270) is compared to a pre-defined criteria and a fatigue alert (290) is served to the user based on the comparison. In examples, the disclosed method may help to overcome challenges associated with fatigue prediction in real-life environments where PPG signals (210) can be noisy and impacted by subject variability.
