Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and system for treating a hydrocarbon-containing mixture. The method comprises the following steps: I) separating the hydrocarbon-containing mixture into a light component and a heavy component; II) reacting the light component obtained in step I) in an aromatization unit, and separating the reaction product into a C5
- component and a C6
+ component; III) reacting the heavy component obtained in step I) and optionally the C6
+ component obtained in step II) in an aromatic hydrocarbon conversion unit, and separating the reaction product into a C5
- component, a C6-C7 component, a C8 component and a C9
+ component; and IV) optionally, performing steam cracking or catalytic cracking on one or both of the C5
- component obtained in step II) and the C5
- component obtained in step III). The method and system can convert a low-value hydrocarbon mixture into C8 aromatic hydrocarbons and crack raw materials, thereby improving the product value.
