Title:
METHOD FOR REMOVING RADIOACTIVE THORIUM ELEMENT IN RARE EARTH MINERAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/227674
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A method for removing a radioactive thorium element in a rare earth mineral, comprising the following steps: mixing the rare earth mineral and selenium dioxide in water; enabling the radioactive thorium element and the selenium dioxide to undergo a reaction by means of a hydrothermal method; cooling to form crystals; and separating the crystals so as to remove the radioactive thorium element. The method is low in energy consumption and high in separation ratio, can implement one-step curing and separation, and effectively overcomes the defects in a conventional method that separating operations are redundant and the amount of organic and radioactive waste liquid is large.
