Abstract:

An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention comprises: a housing; a user interface exposed through a portion of the housing; at least one wireless communication circuit for discovering another electronic device and connecting to the same in a wireless manner without an access point or a base station; at least one processor operationally connected to the user interface and the wireless communication circuit; and a memory operationally connected to the processor, wherein the memory can store instructions such that, during the execution thereof, the processor transmits a plurality of first beacon signals for a wireless connection by using the wireless communication circuit for a first time period, detects at least one second beacon signal for a wireless connection, which is transmitted from an external device, by using the wireless communication circuit for one period between second time periods other than the first time period, receives multimedia data from an external server after detecting the at least one second beacon signal, and outputs at least one of audio, image, or video on the basis of at least a portion of the multimedia data. Various embodiments are possible.
