Abstract:
The present invention may be used for protecting main ducts against corrosion and for increasing their pressure-bearing capacity. The method of the present invention comprises applying a polymeric material to the inner surface of the duct by bringing said material to a viscous flow state and by curing the same. The polymeric material is brought to a viscous flow state in an independent thermo-mechanical module and is applied by extrusion. The thermo-mechanical module is displaced inside and along the duct, wherein the displacement and power supply of said thermo-mechanical module are ensured by the kinetic energy of a gaseous agent, such as natural gas or air, which is transported along the duct by generating a pressure therein.
