Abstract:
Provided is a method by which (E)-1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-butene can be obtained at high yields. This method for producing (E)-1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-butene comprises: a vaporization step for vaporizing 1,2,3,4-tetrachlorobutane; and a reaction step for obtaining (E)-1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-butene by reacting, in the gas phase and in the presence of a solid catalyst, chlorine gas and hydrogen fluoride gas with the 1,2,3,4-tetrachlorobutane vaporized in the vaporization step.
