The present invention provides a method for producing draw-ironed cans by carrying out a drawing-ironing process on a coated metal sheet that has at least an interior coating film on the surface that will become the interior surface of the can, wherein a suppression of the generation of coating film defects during forming and a suppression of coating film exfoliation caused by post-forming heat treatment can be achieved even in the case of use of a coated metal sheet that has a coating film for which the main component is a polyester resin having a high glass transition temperature and an excellent flavor sorption resistance. The present invention achieves this by having the polyester resin contained in the interior surface coating film have a glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 55°C, having the ironing ratio in the drawing-ironing process be at least 40%, and having the processing rate during the ironing process in the drawing-ironing process be at least 2,000 mm/sec.
