Abstract:
A method for improving the forging quality of disc portions of a steering knuckle, the method comprising: heating raw materials, preparing a blank, and extruding, pre-forging and finish-forging the blank to form a forged part. Compared with a pre-forging mold cavity, the lug height of an extrusion mold cavity is 0.8-0.9 times the lug height of the pre-forging mold cavity; metal is filled into a lug portion of the extrusion mold cavity and then flows toward a claw portion; the speed at which the metal extends along the extrusion mold cavity toward the claw portion is always greater than the speed at which a flash extends in the same direction; and the thickness (D) of a disc portion of the extrusion mold cavity is 1.2-1.5 times the thickness (D) of a disc portion of the pre-forging mold cavity.
