Abstract:
Provided is a magnetic recording medium processing device which enables a sensor to perform detection at a required point in time, while maintaining security. This magnetic recording medium processing device has: a coil 110 for generating a magnetic field; a magnetic field generation control unit 120 for controlling the generation of a magnetic field by the coil 110; a sensor 130 for executing acquisition of predetermined information; and a sensor control unit 140 for controlling the execution of the acquisition of information by the sensor 130. The sensor control unit 140 requests the magnetic field generation control unit 120 to stop the generation of the magnetic field from the coil 110 at a point in time that is earlier by a predetermined amount of time than the point in time at which the sensor 130 starts the acquisition of the information, and, when requested to stop the generation of the magnetic field by the sensor control unit 130, the magnetic field generation control unit 120 stops the generation of the magnetic field from the coil 110.
