Abstract:

A low temperature curing powder coating composition and articles formed therefrom. The powder coating composition comprises a polyester resin, a triglycidyl isocyanurate (TGIC) curing agent, a β-hydroxyalkylamide (HAA) curing agent and a leveling agent, wherein the leveling agent is a polymeric material in solid form with a melting point below 100℃ and a melt viscosity below 2000 mPa·s, as measured using a Brookfield viscometer at 200℃. The powder coating composition can be cured at a temperature of 140℃ or lower without the addition of any curing accelerator. Moreover, the coating formed by curing the powder coating composition is substantially free of pores.
