Abstract:
The present invention relates to a liquid crystal composition comprising a liquid crystal compound and a near infrared ray absorbing dye having a mesogenic group, in which the molar extinction coefficient of the near infrared ray absorbing dye in dichloromethane at a maximum absorption wavelength is 200000 L/(mol·cm) or more, and the near infrared ray absorbing dye satisfies formula (1) shown below wherein A1 represents an absorbance of a molecule in the longer axis direction and A2 represents an absorbance of the molecule in the shorter axis direction both at a wavelength of 650 to 1100 nm when measured under a specific measurement condition (A).
