Abstract:
Provided is a novel lamp unit that is reduced in weight. This lamp unit comprises a light-emitting element in which a light-emitting surface 40b faces the front of a vehicular lamp, and a Fresnel lens 38 having an incidence surface 38a facing the light-emitting surface 40b. The Fresnel lens 38 has: a condensing lens part 38b for condensing light, the condensing lens part 38b being positioned at the front of the light-emitting surface 40b; and diffusion lens parts 38c, 38d for diffusing light, the diffusion lens parts 38c, 38d being provided below the condensing lens part 38b and being such that lights L1, L2 exiting from the light-emitting surface 40b in an obliquely downward direction are incident thereon. The diffusion lens parts 38c, 38d are configured such that light that has been refracted by a condensing exit surface 39b of the condensing lens part 38b and by non-continuous diffusion exit surfaces 39c, 39d exits toward the front of the vehicular lamp.
