A kitchen waste treatment device and a kitchen waste treatment method. The kitchen waste treatment device comprises a rack, a smashing mechanism, a compression mechanism, and a packaging mechanism. The smashing mechanism is fixedly mounted on the top end of the rack. The compression mechanism is fixedly mounted in an inner cavity of the rack. The packaging mechanism is located on the right side of the rack, and comprises a supporting cylinder located on the right side of the compression mechanism. The packing mechanism can package compressed solid kitchen waste. During packaging, the supporting cylinder supports a packaging bag; kitchen waste discharged from the compression mechanism gradually enters the packaging bag; the packaging bag gradually extends along with the entering of the kitchen waste; and when the packaging bag extends to its limit, the packaging bag can be taken down for replacement. In addition, since the packaging bag gradually extends along with the injection of the kitchen waste, after the kitchen waste is loaded into the packaging bag, a gap in the packaging bag is small, so that the capacity of the packaging bag is further improved.
