Disclosed is an indoor unit including equipment that handles tap water, with which it is possible to effectively prevent the proliferation of chlorine-resistant Methylobacterium or effectively kill chlorine-resistant Methylobacterium that have proliferated. This unit is an indoor unit which includes equipment that handles tap water. The unit includes a means for providing tap water to the equipment that handles tap water, an electrolytic device for conducting electrolysis of tap water to generate electrolyzed water, and an electrolyzed water discharge means which makes it possible for the electrolyzed water to come into contact with the surface of the unit. The electrolyzed water contains ozone and free chlorine. The concentration of the ozone and the concentration of the free chlorine, where the latter is y (ppm) and the former is x (ppm), satisfy all the requirements expressed by equation 1: y ≥ 4.1079e-18.35x, equation 2: 0.1 ≤ y < 5, and equation 3: 0 < x < 3.
