This hub unit (1) with a steering function is provided with: a hub unit body (2) having a hub bearing (15) which supports a wheel (9); a unit support member (3) provided to a knuckle of a suspension device and supporting the hub unit body (2) so that the hub unit body (2) is rotatable about a vertically extending steering axis; and a steering actuator (5) which rotationally moves the hub unit body (2) about the steering axis. The steering actuator (5) has a motor (26) and a rectilinear motion mechanism (25) which is connected to an arm section (17) provided to the hub unit body (2) and which converts the rotational output of the motor (26) into rectilinear motion. The hub unit (1) with a steering function is further provided with a connection section difference absorbing means (Rk) which absorbs the difference between the paths of a connection section, which are defined by rectilinear motion and rotational motion, the connection section being a section where the rectilinear motion mechanism (25) and the arm section (17) are connected.
