Abstract:
Provided are: a high-molecular-weight compound which has an effect to improve the heat resistance of a thermoplastic resin and prevent the increase in the viscosity of a solution to which the high-molecular-weight compound is added; and a method for producing the high-molecular-weight compound. A high-molecular-weight compound in which a plurality of polymer chains are linked to each other through a linking group having a valency of 2 or more, wherein the linking group having a valency of 2 or more has a thiol group and at least one of a thioether structure and a thiourethane structure, and the ratio of the absolute weight average molecular weight of the high-molecular-weight compound to the relative weight average molecular weight of the high-molecular-weight compound (i.e., (absolute Mw)/(relative Mw)) is 1.25 or more; and a method for producing the high-molecular-weight compound.
