Abstract:
[Problem] The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a heat shrinkable white polyester film which has good and high perforated line openability if fitted as a label, while achieving good label appearance when fitted; and a label. [Solution] The present invention provides a heat shrinkable white polyester film which comprises a polyester resin that contains ethylene terephthalate as a main constituent component, while containing not less than 13% by mole of one or more monomer components that are capable of serving as an amorphous component among all components of the polyester resin; and this heat shrinkable white polyester film satisfies the requirements (1) to (6) described below. (1) If a heat shrinkable white polyester film is processed in hot water at 98°C for 10 seconds, the hot water thermal shrinkage ratio in the longitudinal direction is 0% to 15%. (2) If a heat shrinkable white polyester film is processed in hot water at 98°C for 10 seconds, the hot water thermal shrinkage ratio in the width direction is 50% to 80%. (3) If the transconformation ratio of a heat shrinkable polyester film is the ratio (A1/A2) of the absorbance A1 at 1,340 cm-1 to the absorbance A2 at 1,410 cm-1 of the heat shrinkable polyester film as determined by a polarized ATR-FTIR method, the transconformation ratio is 0.3 to 0.65 in the longitudinal direction that is the non-shrinkage direction of the film. (4) The total light transmittance of a film is 10% to 40%. (5) If subjected to a tensile test at 1,000 mm/min in the longitudinal direction after being shrunk by 20% in the width direction by means of a hot air oven, the elongation at break is 70% to 300%. (6) The distortion index of the molecular orientation angle is 0° to 15°.
