Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a heat shrinkable polyester film which has high thermal shrinkage ratio in the main shrinkage direction, and which enables the achievement of a good recycled PET resin even if recycled together with used beverage PET bottles. [Solution] A heat shrinkable polyester film which contains: from 95% by mole to 100% by mole of a dicarboxylic acid and from 0% by mole to 5% by mole of isophthalic acid in 100% by mole of dicarboxylic acid components; from 85% by mole to 98% by mole of an ethylene terephthalate unit in 100% by mole of all ester units; and from 2% by mole to 15% by mole of diethylene glycol in 100% by mole of polyhydric alcohol components. This heat shrinkable polyester film has a specific hot water thermal shrinkage ratio, while having a melting peak temperature within a specific range, an amount of heat generation during crystallization within a specific range and an amount of heat generation during melting within a specific range as determined with use of a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) after being melted, subsequently cooled and then heated again.
