Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a glass fiber that has a fiber diameter of 18 μm or less and that contains a glass composition which has a percentage content of MgO of 15 mol% or more and in which the common logarithm value log η of the viscosity η [dPa·s] at a devitrification temperature is 2.6 or more. The present invention also provides a glass composition which contains, as expressed in mol%, 50-65% of SiO2, 5-26% of Al2O3, 0-1.6% of B2O3, 15-30% of MgO, 0-8% of CaO, 0-2.4% of Li2O, more than 0.2% but not more than 2.85% of Na2O, and in which the total of the percentage contents of Li2O, Na2O, and K2O is 0.3-3.0% and the ratio of the percentage content of Na2O with respect to said total is 0.2-0.95.
