Abstract:
A barrier coating comprising a polyvinyl alcohol and a polyacrylic acid wherein the barrier film is formed at less than or equal to 100℃ is disclosed. A laminate comprising a barrier coating formed at less than or equal to 100℃ comprising a polyvinyl alcohol and a polyacrylic acid is also disclosed. The polyacrylic acid can comprise a poly (meth) acrylic acid with a number average molecular weight of from 2000 to 400, 000g/mol, have a 2 to 50% degree of neutralization. The polyvinyl alcohol can have a saponification degree of at least 80%, and a molecular weight of from 10,000 to 300, 000 g/mol. The disclosed barrier coating provides good OTR performance without metallization.
