Abstract:
Provided is a fishing reel having a braking unit that applies a braking force to a spool, said fishing reel being capable of storing a reel state log and taking out data without using a battery. The fishing reel is configured to comprise: a spool rotatably supported by a reel body of the fishing reel; a braking unit that applies a braking force to the spool owing to the interaction between a permanent magnet attached to the spool and a coil attached to the reel body; a control unit that controls the braking unit; a detection unit that detects the state of the fishing reel; a storage unit that stores information obtained by the detection unit; a communication unit that transmits the information stored in the storage unit; and an external power receiving unit that can receive power from an external source.
